What is Songspot?

Songspot is a free online guess-the-song game that plays a very short music clip and asks you to identify the track. You begin with 0.1 seconds. A wrong guess or skip unlocks a longer clue, so every round becomes easier while rewarding fast recognition.
How do you play Songspot?

How long are the Songspot clips?

Songspot uses five stages: 0.1 seconds, 0.5 seconds, 2 seconds, 8 seconds and 15 seconds. You can enable or disable individual stages in the game menu. When the selection changes, the round returns to the shortest clip that remains enabled.
Can you recognise a song in 0.1 seconds?

Sometimes. A tenth of a second is not enough for a lyric or full melody, but it can carry the attack of a drum, the texture of a voice, room ambience or a distinctive synth. Familiar production details may trigger recognition before you can explain what you heard.
What do the difficulty levels mean?

Difficulty controls how familiar or obscure the available tracks are. Easy is the friendliest place to learn the game. Medium and Hard widen the catalogue, while Expert and Impossible are designed for listeners who want deeper cuts and fewer immediate clues.
Does Songspot work on mobile?

Yes. The game has responsive phone, tablet and desktop layouts. On smaller screens, difficulty, volume and clip settings move into a slide-out menu. A modern browser and speakers or headphones are all you need.
Why does the progress bar use uneven sections?

The bar is weighted by listening time. A 0.1-second clue should not appear as large as a 15-second clue, so each segment reflects its real duration. The bright playback mask moves inside the current limit while audio is playing.
Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. At the end of a round, select Challenge your friend to copy a link that opens the same track and difficulty. The shared message does not name the song, so your friend can play without seeing the answer first.
How often can I play?

There is no daily limit. Use Reroll all to draw another track, switch difficulty whenever you want, or start a new round after the answer is revealed. Your display and clip preferences are remembered in the browser.
Where can I report an audio or rights issue?

Use the addresses on the contact page. Include the song title and a short description so the relevant preview or metadata can be reviewed quickly.
